Construction of a new regional fire station in Theux. Garage for 9 fire trucks and related equipment, stores and repair-shop. Premises foreseen for 50 firemen: bathrooms, cold and hot changing rooms, classroom, sports room. Administrative quarters, office and safety center. In addition, parking space for +/- 30 vehicles for volunteers and 3 visitor spaces.
In order to allow a maximal flexibility of the garages we offer eight wide spaces for trucks together with a place reserved for the commander’s vehicle.
AS Voluntary firemen arrive with their own cars, the parking area is located alongside the garages at the back in order to shorten the distance car/truck.
Changing room is situated between the parking and the garage. It is the prism where a civilian changes himself into a fireman.
Separate bathrooms for men and women have been built on each side of the changing room.
Stores and utilities are directly reachable from the garage and/or the parking.
At ground level there are two horizontal axes.
One is close to the parking and allows access to the various functionalities inside the building as well as to the first floor, the other is in the garage itself and allows firemen to reach the right truck immediately after passing through the changing rooms. It also allows access to the various functionalities directly reachable from the garage.
Reception / safety spaces are located at the right end of the building and give access to both ground floor areas.
First floor shelters collective and administrative functionalities. They are linked to the ground floor through three staircases and two down leading masts.
